Together in Song: A Community Songwriting Workshop with Nova Darkstar
Using skills gained over years of songwriting and group facilitation, Nova will guide participants through a step by step process of composing a song together as a group. The workshop will culminate with recording the song we create. All songwriters, beginner to advanced, are welcome to attend. Bring along a musical instrument if you have one.
Nova Darkstar MA, MFA (they/them) has been writing songs for over 40 years in a variety of genres, including punk, country, psychedelia, soul, and disco. Nova Darkstar & their Invisible Band recently released Instrumentalisman (available on Bandcamp). A new album of original songs will follow in 2027. Nova also performs with the experimental ensemble Bulk Mulch Di$count and Nova Darkstar’s Guitar Galactica. They are an experienced facilitator who creates an inclusive, fun, and empowering environment for participants.
